Mr. Crockett was Deputy Commissioner of the Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions, in charge of the Banks and Thrift Supervision Section, with regulatory responsibility for Virginia’s banks, bank holding companies, and building and loan association. He was with the Bureau for over 37 years, initially serving as a bank examiner, then as the Bureau’s first Bank Analyst, and for his last 24 years, as Deputy Commissioner.
Mr. Crockett served as a member of the Curriculum Committee for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) from 1988 to 1990, and has been an instructor for the three technical development schools CSBS offers. He also developed lesson plans for and taught Bank Financial Analysis for the Bank Administration Institute. He has done presentations for the Virginia Bankers’ Association, the Virginia Association of Community Bankers, CSBS, the Institute for Supervisory Education, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Mr. Crockett served on the Board of Directors of the American Council of State Savings Supervisors for nine years. He served as a regulatory instructor for the Bank Management Simulation class—Graduate School of Banking at LSU for four years, and was a member of the CSBS Regulatory and Legislative Committees.
Mr. Crockett majored in Finance and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the E. Claiborne Robins School of Business, University of Richmond.
