Terry Hoover, CPA, CIA

Terry is a Director with SRA focusing on Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and internal audit.  He has over 25 years of financial services experience with a focus on ERM, internal audit, compliance/BSA/AML, vendor management, business continuity, treasury and finance. 

Prior to joining SRA, Terry served as Chief Financial Officer and Director of Audit and Risk Services for TIB-The Independent Bankers Bank, the largest bankers’ bank in the country. While at TIB, Terry oversaw the ERM, internal audit, accounting, finance, compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, business continuity, and vendor management functions for the bank. Terry also led the audit and risk management functions for three other Texas-based community banks.

As a risk consultant with Sheshunoff Management Services, Austin, Texas, and Payne & Smith, LLP, Dallas, Texas, Terry led ERM, internal audit, loan review, compliance audit, Bank Secrecy Act and model risk management consulting engagements with banks ranging from de novo to $6 billion. 

As a bank regulator with the FDIC and OCC, Terry participated in and led safety and soundness, compliance, and Information Technology examinations at state and national banks ranging from de novo to $2.5 billion. 

Terry regularly speaks at industry schools and conferences about ERM, operational risk, and business continuity. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.  He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and a Master of Science in Accounting and Information Management from the University of Texas at Dallas.
